Thank you for choosing the Southern Ontario Exotics Foster program as a way to introduce yourself to the knowledge, care, training, and responsibility that comes along with rescuing/caring for reptiles, amphibians, and small animals, all while helping us still provide for the urgent rescues, while those who are healthy await their forever home!

This is an application to see if you are a good fit and show you our terms/conditions, and give you a little insight on what to expect in the Southern Ontario Exotics foster program.

*if there is a specific animal you are interested in fostering, please provide all the care details below including; Temps, lighting, diet, supplements, feeding schedule, past experiences, and anything else you feel is necessary below!*

You will be providing a safe, loving temporary home until the rescue is adopted out, once they are, they will leave your care. Southern Ontario Exotics foster program is to help those wanting to gain more hands on experience with reptiles and amphibian care/rescuing, while helping us gain more room for urgent intakes and so much more! This is not a paid position, but a volunteer position with Southern Ontario Exotics.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF AGREEMENT
The following terms and conditions outline the responsibilities of the foster parent operating under Southern Ontario Exotics foster program;

I promise to abide by the SPCA Enforcement Act. By doing this, I promise to not abandon, kill or abuse any animal, and to not do anything which will directly put in danger the lives and welfare of the animals in my care.

I promise to provide proper care to the animals in my care. I promise to make Southern Ontario Exotics aware of any concerns/health issues I have over the foster in my care.

I am fully aware that I am a foster home. I am fully aware that this means the animal in my care is not legally my own.

I promise to keep in touch with Southern Ontario Exotics whenever there is a foster in my care. I will keep in contact about the foster in my care minimum every 72 hours.

I agree to allow Southern Ontario Exotics home visits when there is a foster in my care.

I promise to provide care to the foster to my fullest capacity. This includes providing medical, nutritional and wellness care that was previously discussed snd planned with Southern Ontario Exotics. If I am unable to and unsure of how to provide complete and medically-appropriate care to the animal, I will reach out to Southern Ontario Exotics.

I fully understand that I am only fostering, and that the rescue will be getting adopted out to a forever home after they have been in my care.

I fully understand that if Southern Ontario Exotics feels I am unfit to foster at any time, they can/will remove the foster(s) in my care.

I promise to check in and get permission from Southern Ontario Exotics before I make any changes to the fosters care that have not already been previously discussed.

I promise to give the foster(s) back the day that is arranged for their adoption.

I promise not to keep any foster animals, unless an adoption plan has been set between myself, and Southern Ontario Exotics.

______ I agree to follow and abide by all dietary guidelines set by Southern Ontario Exotics.
